Les Lacandons, derniers descendants des Mayas vivent près de, Yaxchilan la cité royale Maya de la fin de 600 av. JC.Le gouvernement Mexicain a donné aux Lacandons en 1972 un territoire de 662 000 hectares autour de Yaxchilan et Bonampak.
En Maya les Lacandons se nomment Hach Vinik "les vrais hommes", toujours vêtu d'une tunique blanche ils vivent en communauté très réduite dans l'état du Chapias.
The Lacandons, the last descendants of the Maya live near Yaxchilan the Mayan royal city of the end of 600 BC. The Mexican government gave to the Lacandons in 1972 a territory of 662,000 hectares around Yaxchilan and Bonampak.
In Maya the Lacandons are called Hach Vinik "the real men", always dressed in a white tunic they live in a very reduced community in the state of Chapias.
